Rand Easter Show
Well yesterday was an interesting day. It started out pretty standard but turned out to be full of new things for me.
I had Worship practice in the morning then came home and lazed around for a bit looking at other people’s photo hunt posts, a lot of really good photos by the way. Then a friend called me and said he was going to the rand easter show, which in South Africa is held every year at around easter time funnily enough :-). He said he was going because they had a concert starting at 6PM. Now I have never been to a non-christian music concert before so it was a first for me. The bands were very good. There were two bands that played, the Springbok Nudes girls and the Parlatones, which apparently are the first and second best South African rock bands. Parlatones started off very strangely where the lead singer started singing through a bullhorn, into the microphone. After a lot of feedback and signalling frantically to the sound engineers, he finally got the effect he was after. It was an interesting effect but everyone was shocked at that he wanted to decrease the quality of the voice going into the microphone. The Springbok nude girls, (No they are not girls, and yes they are fully clothed), however were awesome, I have never heard someone play a trumpet in a rock song before, man what a difference it makes to the sound. Here are a couple of photos I took on my camera phone, sorry for the bad quality.
As you can see the event marketing was brilliant that is why the bands drew such a crowd.
The second new thing that I did was go ten pin bowling. “What”, I hear you say, “you’ve never been ten pin bowling?”
Well what can I say, when my friends asked me whether I had done this before I had to think because I am sure that I must have. But I came to the conclusion that I had never been. I did terribly, I bowled 67, my friends bowled 124, 100, and 88.
So that is my Saturday.
I have received a few comments and questions about yesterdays photo. It was taken in 2005 when I was in the UK on Holiday. I saw the puddle and that the security camera had a reflection in the puddle. So I snapped the picture. I took it without the flash, but that came out very dark so I took the one I posted with the flash.
One last thing, blogging is really exciting I really enjoy it. All those who welcomed me to the blogging scene, I just want to thank you.

I’ve been bowling quite a few times and 67 would still be a good score for me!
I only discovered recently that the Scissor Sisters are neither sisters nor girls.
Great photo in the Photohunt. Welcome.
Keep it up.
