Photo Hunt

Theme: Shadow(s)
Paths of colour

Comment: This weeks theme is Shadows and this photo was taken from a game drive vehicle while on a leadership retreat for the church. I was sitting on the vehicle and we were on our way back to the chalet after the game drive when I looked down and saw the ground moving but the shadow motionless. “Perfect Photo opp” I thought, and started taking shots of it. :-)

I know what you mean! I’ve seen that phenomenon (oh the spelling!). It is not intuitive so I love that.

Me again.. wanted to ask, what is a Game Drive?

  10. admin Says:

Sorry guys :-) A ‘Game Drive’ is simply when you get into an open top vehicle and drive around a reserve where animals are kept in their natural habitat. So on a game drive you see Zebra grazing, Giraffe watching you from their long necks, and you may even see a lion or two if you are lucky (although Mabula Game Lodge does not have any lions).

There are no cages or fences generally (except the main fence around the park to enclose everything) so it is important to stay in the vehicle.
It is a very nice experience, and one that I recommend to everyone. I just thought, you guys might know it as an ‘African Safari’, except a Safari to me includes camping outside and doing some other cool wildlife stuff.
